Çadır Mansion
Another historic mansion in Yıldız Park is Çadır Mansion. It was
originally built as “Sedir Mansion” in 1871 in this woods belonging to
Çırağan Palace. The mansion was left vacant for long years following
Abdülhamid period. In 1940, after being given to administration of
Municipality of Istanbul by the Minstry of Finances and the woods’ name
being changed to “Yıldız Park”, Çadır Mansion was repaired, and was
administered by a pastry shop owner named Avadis Çakır between years of
1949-1960.
Following 27 May 1960 Revolution, Tamzimat Museum
was founded in Çadır Mansion. In 1982, the utilization and
administrative rights were granted to Turing. In June 1995, the
restoration works began immediately after its being given to
administration of Municipality of Istanbul and the mansion completely
undergone a restoration.
