Istanbul Tekel Museum
Tekel, which was built in 1941 under the name of İnhisarlar General
Directorate, had no museum until 1985. To reflect the changes Tekel went
through as an institution, it was agreed that a “Tekel Museum” be built
in Cibali Cigarette Factory on March 22,1985.
According to the inventory, there are 306 objects in the museum. Tekel
museum features the first cigarette samples made for Atatürk, cigarettes
produced for our presidents, cigarette packing, cigar manufacture and
texture materials; workbenches and set of tools, 1925-model Italian fire
brigade autos, cigarette wrapping, cardboard packing and other packing
equipment, alphabetical catalogue demonstration cigarettes produced in
factory, cigarette samples album made in first administrative period,
albums with old photos depicting various locations of the factory and
many paintings.
