Beware
of antiques. When dealing with pieces purported to be more than 100
years old, chances are you will end up with an expensive fake, which is
just as well since it's illegal to export the real thing without a
government permit (and they are very strict about this). Note, too, that
Turkish antiquities laws apply to every piece of detritus, so don't pick
up anything off the ground at archaeological sites.
Many excellent copies are for sale however, in a variety of shops
everywhere.
